Matariki (Maori New Year)

  • Details:

Matariki is the Maori name for the cluster of stars also known as the Seven Sisters. The reappearance of the seven Matariki stars, in late May or early June, signals the beginning of the Maori New Year. Matariki is a time to gather with family and friends to reflect on the past, celebrate the present, and plan for the future. It is a time of renewal and celebration in New Zealand. 1000’s of crystals have been used to show the Matariki star cluster on the back of the cape.

This costume is size 8-10 and is made from a stretch sequnned fabric, it fastens with hooks and eyes at the back so you are able to wear a bra with it. It also comes with a rhinestoned cape to enhance your stage performance and a head piece.
