Miss NZ 1 Day Pageant

Welcome to the Miss New Zealand Ltd “1 Day Pageant”

Covid has made the pageant landscape somewhat rocky over the last few years, but we are excited to have found ourselves a new National Director, Meghan Kenney, and are looking forward to building a brighter future.

What is the “1 Day Pageant”?

We are looking to crown 2 new queens, Miss International New Zealand and Miss Tourism International New Zealand to represent us in this year’s international pageants. However, this is not our regular full-scale pageant, we won’t be hosting one until late 22/early 23. And so we ask only for entrants with experience in pageants - whether it’s our system or another within New Zealand.

There will be 3 sections: Evening wear, swimwear and interview. You will each perform these 1 by 1 in a room in front of 3 judges, I will send you music in advance to practice to and expect on the day. There is no set choreography, as an experienced pageant contestant, you may do what you wish with your time in the room - I will send you the room layout in advance.

Professional headshots will be taken: Each contestant will be given no less than 10 edited, professional photos after the conclusion of the event for use in their portfolio. There is a beautiful outside location (covered and uncovered options) for these to be done.

What’s in it for me?

Both contestants will work closely with me, Meghan Kenney, to help train you for your international experience. I will be heading overseas for a few months starting in April, so that means March will be a busy month for us. I will be conducting photoshoots with both Queens - evening wear, professional and swimwear - this will help me put together a media kit to reach out to potential sponsors. I will also coach you in walking and other aspects of pageantry - both in person and virtually during the months I am away.

Miss International NZ - both your entry fee and flights are covered. We are in talks with a bridal boutique to have your final night gown made for you.

Miss Tourism International - your entry fee is covered but you will need to cover your flights

Both - I will be using the media kits we put together to procure other sponsors for evening wear and regular fashion but it is also expected that you reach out yourself too. It is likely I will be able to provide a National Costume for you both and I have a nail tech in the works too. As this is in the early days, I cannot guarantee anything at this moment in time and so I am opting for transparency. What I can guarantee you is that I will be on your team every second of the day and working hard for you, I am a hands-on National Director.

The Fine Print:

Age range: 18 - 27

Entry fee: Approx $100 (this is to cover venue costs and photography)

Must have competed in an NZ pageant before - international experience preferred

In line with the international pageants guidelines: you must be a natural-born female and have never been married or had children.
